Xiaofeng "Denver" Tang joined the Rock Ethics Institute as a Post-doctoral Fellow in engineering ethics after defending his doctoral dissertation on the integration of engineering and liberal education. Denver received his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Automation from Tsinghua University, Beijing. He studied for a Ph.D. degree (expected December 2014) in the Department of Science and Technology Studies at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Denver's research interests include cultural understandings of technology, historical and contemporary efforts to reform engineering education, and the intellectual and moral development of engineering students. At Penn State, he is working with the Rock Ethics Institute and the Leonhard Center for Enhancement of Engineering Education to develop modules for teaching engineering ethics.
